WELCOME
The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity founded in 2004 with the mission:
To increase the economic standard of living and quality of life in Montgomery County by providing educational opportunities and additional support to the general public and businesses.
We drive this mission forward through ten core tasks:
- Promotion: We promote the development, establishment, expansion, and retention of residents, businesses, and industries.
- Data Collection: We research and maintain current data and analysis of county economic and social trends.
- Education: We educate the county’s residents on the county’s economic and social status and trends.
- Record Keeping: We develop and maintain an inventory of available business and industrial sites.
- Recruitment: We recruit businesses and residents through an informational and interactive website and other marketing materials.
- Grant Writing: We research, apply for, and administer grants when requested by Corporation members.
- Funding: We raise funds from existing businesses, communities, industries, and individuals to support community and economic development efforts.
- Tourism: We support unified countywide tourism efforts.
- Strategic Planning: We involve members in developing an annual program of work and drafting a four-year strategic plan.
- Boots on the Ground: We engage in other activities, as deemed appropriate by the board of directors, to implement the annual program of work and four-year strategic plan.
Every program, partnership, and initiative we launch is designed to strengthen our local economy by attracting new businesses, supporting existing ones, creating jobs, and shaping a thriving future for Montgomery County.
Our work is made possible by members who invest dollars in our county’s economic future. Together, we are building a stronger Montgomery County.
